How do I view two documents at the same time in PDF-XChange Viewer or PDF-XChange Editor?
If you are looking to open multiple Editor windows at once, please see this article. The following methods detail viewing options within a single window.
1. Open the documents. Note that document names are detailed in the document tab:
2. Click and drag documents from the document tab to open them in a separate window. Alternatively, to view documents in the same window, click and drag documents onto the docking points that appear when documents are dragged from the document tab:
Drop documents on the left/right/upper/lower docking points as desired. They will then be docked in the corresponding place in relation to the other document.
Alternatively, the Document Tabs options in View tab of the Ribbon Toolbar can be used to adjust the layout of documents:
To Restore the previous layout, simply drag the document back to the original title tab bar that you originally removed it from.
Follow the steps below to view two instances of the same document at the same time:
1. Click View in the Ribbon Toolbar.
2. Hover over the Split icon.
3. Select Horizontal Split or Vertical Split:
Two instances of the same document will then be displayed. If one of these documents is edited then the other will also update:
There is also now a Spreadsheet Split function available which keeps the panels of the document locked together to allow simultaneous scrolling of opposite sides of a page at a higher zoom level than you would normally be able to fit those sides into:
To restore the previous view in any of these cases, simply click the "split" button once again.
